It looks like I'm going to need find another transmission crossmember for my Ty. Are these interchangeable with any other 4WD (or 2WD) S-10/S-15's?

Thanks,
Galen

Sorry to butt in, but I thought the Ty crossmember was different from the 4X4 to provide clearance for the larger exhaust. I recommend double checking this before buying....

I dont have part numbers with me now, will check tonite

The ty one is square tube and actually sits lower than the 4x4 one. I have the 4x4 one in my ty (round tube). The crossmember sits higher in the truck with NO clearence issues at all. I have 3'' from the turbo back and there is plenty of room.

I thought they were different, but so far cannot confirm that. This is from Opie's excellent CD:

It shows only 1 tranny crossmember part for all "T" trucks. Sounds like you are OK with a 4X4 part, though, based on biggtime's post.

Where are you located? I have a spare sy cross member.

I'm in southeast Kansas. What would you want for it? I'm guessing the shipping cost might be the worst part of it.

Thanks,

Glad you are working it out. Just for future reference, I posted the wrong diagram earlier

shows the 'syclone performance package' and Bravada having a different part from other "T" trucks. Ours is P/N 15652999.

While you have your crossmember out check out the welds thoroughly.
Namely the trans mounting area.

Some of them didn't exactly get the best job closing up the welds.
It would be wise to finish weld it wherever they missed and POR15 it before putting it in.

Jas is right. I could see daylight through the welds on mine. Took it to orman's welding and for $20 they did double welds all around. Mine wasn't broken. There was no evidense of any welds where the daylight came through. Whoever QC'd out that contract for GM had their head up their ass.
