tranny slipping?

when i get under boost at low speeds i feel the truck vibrate and the RPMs go up but the truck doesnt really move that good! i was thinking either the trans or the transfer case was slipping. the fluid in both looks good alittle used but not burnt. does anybody have any tests or things they want me to do to help find this problem?

if you test the tranny it will prob die and leave you walking. if you put the power to it and it doesnt move then it's prob the trans of torque converter. the xcase is normally make noises if its not working right.

you can adjust the tv cable as tight as it will go and this will boost the line pressure to help with slippage.

Dont you have a Roadmaster trans?

If so, welcome to the club....mine took a dump at only 800 miles, all highway driving.

Check the plug wires. You'd be surprised how crap a truck feels (and like the trans is going out) when there's a burned plug wire. BTDT.

That is worth checking. A lot less expensive than a new trans. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Re: tranny slipping?

Your having the exact same problem as me. The truck stays up in high RPM and wont go back down into the powerband during any shifts and the truck doesnt go anywhere.

You havnt answered if you have a RM trans, but im positive you won it at the nats correct?

If you do... I suggest you ask RM what pump they used. Ive come to find out that they put a shitty 10 vane pump in my trans and this is the root of all the probs. Sounds like they did you just the same and your trans is hurting on line pressure.

Go do a search on "Roadmaster" and read my posts about my trans and tell me if it isnt the exact same prob as you have.

Ive already told RM personally what I think of their business and their build. You might want to do the same if your in the same predicament as me and having to REBUILD my trans AGAIN after only 800 miles on it.

I plan to lay out everything that went into my "bulletproof" Dr. Evil build and expose to the forum what shit work they do and have the balls to want $2200+ for. Bunch of thieves.

Re: tranny slipping?

sorry guys i havent been on the board in a few days. i dont have a roadmaster trans because when i won that trans at the Nats the guy said he would only take the trans that was in my truck and rebuild it but my trans was already built damn strong so that wasnt going to happen. i was going to buy a core and have that built but i ran into money problems for a while. it sounds like i wouldnt want the trans because of all the storys ive heard about roadmaster. i really dont know if its the trans because it drives fine if you stay out of boost. i am going to change the wires soon and maybe that will help. i dont really even race around anymore because the truck is a daily driver and i cant break it yet. i do about 80 miles highway driving a day and it runs great.

I'm in the same boat. I have trans issues and I just need to keep her on the road for my 60 mile daily commute.
