Sure enough I pulled the clone out of the garage last night after driving it for a few day and TRANNY juice all over the Garage floor!!! fluid level ok so NO damage done, now the repair question, I got under there to take a look at whay line it was it's the middle line that rubbed against the pan,

What do I need to order?
Do I need to drop the tranny to get to the fittings?
Can I cut it , and cover it with a high pressure hose and clamp it back together?
What else are my options!

I had the same problem.... You can repair the tubing fairly easy...

Go to you local autoparts store and get a section of 5/16" fuel/brake line tubing(a few feet at least) and two 5/16" compression fittings along with a tubing cutter if you don't already have one...

Cut the section of pipe out that has rubbed through and replace it with the new tubing using the compression fittings....

I know people that flair the ends of the tubing and use high pressure hose, but I feel the metal lines will last much longer...

NOTE: When I fixed my Ty, I had to replace about a foot and a half of tubing because it was rubbing the length of the oil pan and rubbed a flat spot in the line that the compression fittings can't seal too. The leak occurred where the factory hangar was bolted to the oil pan.

Hope this helps and if you have any ?s, feel free to email me privately at cr133r@hotmail.com

I have the exact same problem, except noone really replied to my inquiries.

My trans line came out of those retainers near the block and rubbed against the fitting for the turbo oil return line and rubbed a HOLE right through it. as well as many flat spots down the line.

I had to use a crow's foot and 2 extensions to get on the fitting at the trans, and I just yanked the whole line and am having one made of SS braided. Should have pulled both of them while I was under there, but my intention was just to repair what is wrong and get it back on the ground.

Dunno if there is enough room to cut the tubing under there, but with it out now I am not fishing tubing back in there.

There is no dealer part # for that line, they just give you a straight piece of raw tubing you have to bend up yourself and then put the ends on as well.

For a tubing cutter, I got one from PEP BOYS... Its very small(about 1.5" square by 3/4" thick) so I was easily able to cut the lines after removing the bracket from the oil pan that was holding them...

Idealy, in the future, I'd like to run new hard line down the frame rail to the cooler and have a short section of braided steel that goes to the tranny to isolate the driveline vibration... In my opinion, this would be the best way to do it(you don't have to worry about the braided line staying put up near the motor/crossmember).
