Re: Top Grille Insert
Re: Top Grille Insert
OK... I installed my panel and overall I am very pleased with it. Great work
My issues....
First off my panel wasn't bent far enough to fill the gap along the grill but it was an easy fix with a heat gun and patience. In the pic it looks really gray but I assure you that it isn't. The rough texture reflects the light when taking pics.
Second issue is that the notch for the hood release cable wasn't in the correct spot but it works. I tried moving it over but then it didn't fit between the mounting area of the grill. (when you install one you'll see what I mean)
Third thing I encountered isn't really an issue, just a personal preference. When installing it there are gaps along the top at both ends and at the center support along the top. Personally I didn't care for this so I opted to place it behind the support (see pic) I had to notch the panel in a few areas for a completely flush fit but it was definately worth it.
Again, I am very happy with the final result and no panel would be perfect for everyone. These are the mods I made to my panel and thought I share them with everyone for reference.
This is a great way to clean up the area and possibly be functional as well. It seems that the air will be pushed through the radiator a little more efficiently helping to cool things down a bit.
