hey guys, I have been searching ebay, autotrader, this site, etc for a couple weeks looking for a sy/ty. i have found a few that are in my range and what im looking for but problem is they are 500+ miles away. I do not have the luxury of just up and leaving to go look at a truck and i might or might not like it.... nor do I wanna take the chance to just "trust" a buyer and online pictures... so i have been hesitant.
anyway on saturday I was looking at autotrader.com and found a 93 typhoon that is 1 mile from my house... no picture was available and very little information... so i called him up and went over there... it was litterally in my neighborhood and I could have walked there... and i never seen it before...
the guy has an old 60 something camero that he is TOTALLY restoring and wants money for that project...
well onto the Ty... i have looked at about 3 Tys lately and when I first saw this one my jaws dropped... on a scale of 1-10, i would give this thing a 9.8 / 10... it is IMMACULANT shape... there is not one scratch on the entire thing.. and trust me i looked... the engine bay was so clean i would have NO PROBLEM eating off of it... i swear, i was shocked!!!
its a 93, has 106k miles, has some SWEET looking aftermarket rims w/ brand new (500 miles) faulken tires, wood trim on inside, upgraded stereo, cladding was all repainted about 1 month ago, upgraded turbo, battery relocated, air intake kit, etc
i dont have a full list of all the mods, or really any details on the turbo kit yet, but im going over there again tonight to check it out and ask some more questions.... to be honest, i told him it was ssssaaaawwweeeeet, but out of my price range... he was asking $12,500 for it and is worth every penny when compared to the others i have looked at.... i was straight up and told him it was out of my price range, and then he said he didnt want to waste either of our time and $10,500 is bottom dollar.... we sat and bs'ed about his camero, my lightning and just cars in general for about an hour... super nice guy... well i took off and then last night i called and left him a message saying I know he needed 10,500 but i could do 9,500 not a penny more... didnt want to insult him, but thats all i coudl do.... just got a call about 10 mins ago saying its a done deal!!!!!!
what you guys think!!! the turbo is upgraded, but not sure what kind.. it had a heat shield blanket thing around it... but in the center console, it has a knob that you can adjust the turbo from like 1-5 or something....
btw, its navy blue/grey and iv never seen that combo before....looked real good
