I just got a Pro Race external balance piece . You can shift the weight where it needs to be for an easier balancing.

ATI. you want a neutral balance damper as the damper is not suppposed to be part of the eng equation. in a perfect world you wouldnt need one. but I suggest, use and sell only ATI. I used fluiddampers in the past, never had a problem, but heard of some. ATI's are the thing to use now.

Depends on price and usage in my never ending quest to save rotating mass we4ight I found neutal balance billet alum balance that weighs 2.5 lbs but its about 300 bucks but I figure the 3-5 lbs of reduced rotating mass outweighs the cost

What about this one from sytyguy

price seems doable at $129.95
Will this one just go on and everything be good no other mods necessary. Not effect balancing of motor etc etc.

Ted....I've sold a couple of these so far (but none to SyTyers however), and they've worked out great. I have plans to use one on a friend's engine here soon and the only forseeable mod is possibly the relocating of the timing tab (from the welded spot on the cover to the cover bolts about 1/2" away). This allows for a slightly larger balancer (6 3/4", 7", etc....) to be used without fitment issues.

If you're hesitant about using this one, then wait a little while and I'll have one of these units installed on a SyTy and can share my experience.

The stock evenfire cranks take a neutral balance damper. The billet ones often times need a SB400 external balance damper for some reason, unless you want to spend $1000 on balancing..

The ATI balancers are some of the nicest out on the market. Pioneer also makes some nice ones, which is mainly what we use on the rebuilds. You can also grind off the timing pointer and use a nice billet pointer like a Tavia, Pioneer or B&B instead of re-welding back on the stocker..

Race Performance Balancer (6 1/4" - 5.50 lbs) - 872021 - $179.99
Billet Adj. Timing Indicator (6 1/4" Balancer) - 839051 - $49.99
