Thermostat temp with Vortec's

Hey all, any one experimented with different thermostats and the vortec heads? Since they are less prone to deto should we use a 180 over a 160? Or should we stay with the 160? Just wondering out loud....

hey Brian;

I'm running the 142* thermostat with good results (mild climate tho).... I also have electric fans & "FAST" so I can just change what temp the fans come on if needed.

I think the 160* would work just fine. That's where I'd be at now if Rob hadn't got me enthused over the 142* stat! HTH,

I have run both a 140 and a 160. unfortunatly it hasnt changed my water temps at all. I am making other changes to the system now to try and lower my water temps.
