I just sent a PM to Ray Moore asking him to please check what his replacement IP harnesses have for a radio connector. His harnesses are left-over from production, so were most likely used in 93 Typhoons. Let's see what those harnesses have, and we'll continue the discussion.......

Ray and I had a pleasant conversation earlier today. He shed some light on this connector thing, which I really wasn't sure about. Thanks, Ray.

Ray has a CD player with a 4/28/92 Date with the Integrated Style connector, plugged directly into a IP harness with NO adapters. So there IS a Typhoon IP harness with the integrated radio connector. (I wasn't doubting you at all Gary. I'm from Missouri (not really) "Show Me"). For now, it looks like the 93 Ty has the integrated style connector, and the 92 Ty has the 3-plug style. From a sample-size of 1, the SoGT has 3-plug style as well.

Ray has adapters for installing "late" Integrated style radios in "earlier" SyTy's with 3-plug harnesses. I think this is what I had, shown in the pic above. An adapter that was used to install later radios in earlier vehicles when SERVICE was performed. Whether these adapters were used in PRODUCTION or not, is unknown.

I'm going to start another thread for the Typhoon / SoGT radios so we can attempt to identify what those RPO's looked like, like we've done here with the Syclones.

Dave, I was paging through some paper work and I read that something about the radio channel is C-QUAM. I am not sure where you pulled the NOAA info from but I wanted to touch base on the topic.

C-QUAM is the method for broadcasting AM frequencies in Stereo. We never discussed the AM Stereo capability of the UX1, but UX1 does have AM Stereo.

Note the "WEATHER" in the description of UX1. I interpret this to mean there is an ability for the radio to receive the NOAA weather broadcasts in the 162Mhz band.

I meant NOAA, which is the agency that broadcasts weather information on 7 frequencies in the 162mhz VHF band. In my original post, I brought up the description for the UX1 option that specifies "WEATHER". We have dismissed this feature as being an error in the description. Weather capability does not exist.
