I want to transplant some syty power train parts into a jeep wrangler.

Why?

Well, in a word because it's gonna be awesome.

Here's my list of parts:

Engine:

Bowtie 4.3 Block
Oddfire Steel Crank
Flat Top Forged Pistons
Pontiac Raised-Runner Heads
Pontiac Spider Intake Manifold
BG Mighty Demon 650 Carb
Odd Fire GMPP Distributor w/ GMPP Ignition Amplifier & Coil
Custom 1 3/4" Headers

Transmission:

Ford C4 Pan-Fill w/ Roller bearing conversion & 2.92/1.68/1:1 planetaries
JW Ultra-Bell C4 to Smallblock conversion bellhousing
2500 Stall Converter (Set up tight for low slip above stall speed)
Art-Carr reverse manual valvebody w/ compression braking in 1st gear
Vasco input shaft
27 spline shorty output shaft
Common 4x4 6-bolt circular tailhousing bolt pattern

Transfer Case:

BW4404 (similar to syty BW4472 but w/ common 6-bolt 4x4 front housing)
27-spline input shaft from syty BW4472
Front output shaft from syty BW4472

Front Axle (Independant):

BMW 210mm 750i IRS Diff Housing (w/ stock 930 style cv flanges)
BWM Open Differential
Empi 930 inner cv joints
28 spline 300M axle shafts
Empi Ford F150 outer cv joints
GM 2500 unit bearings (6x5.5 wheel bolt pattern)
Brembo vented brake rotors w/ Wilwood calipers

Rear Axle (Solid Axle):

Re: syty powertrain love

Is this started yet, or still in the design phase. Is it going to be turbo? Tube chassis? Sounds like a cool build, let us see some pictures.

Still collecting parts.

Non-turbo high-compression pump gas engine. Considering a custom solid roller from comp cams with RT280/NC284 (int/exh) lobes and a 112 deg lobe separation angle. It will lift about .666" at the intake valve with a 1.6 rocker. DesktopDyno estimates BMEP's of 218 at 5500 rpm which should yield over 470 horsepower at 7500 rpm. The wide separation angle should yield good low rpm torque with DesktopDyno estimating almost 300 lb-ft at 2500 rpm (stall speed.)

Planning a tube chassis with a-arm front suspension and a triangulated 4 link rear.

Will post pics of the parts as I get them cleaned up and prolly do a build thread on Pirate 4x4.

So how is this build a syty powertrain if its non turbo??
Dont get me wrong it sounds cool but it sounds like a sgt.

I think it's easier to simply swap the t-case. Why do you need all these parts w/o turbo and stuff...

Re: syty powertrain love

Are you planning on using your jeep off roading? A high reving 4.3 build is probably not your best engine choice. You can do a 350 for a lot less than a Bowtie 4.3 build and have better low end torque.

Yah.

Tough audience here...

I guess the thread title should be 'inspired by' syty powertrain love.

Anyone know where I can get a syty 27 spline transfer case input shaft?

From anyone who has gone 4l80E. Via changing the input shaft. There was a group purchase a little while ago where at least 20 of the 32 spline shafts were made. Put up a WTB post in that section, I am sure there is someone here willing to offload the old shaft. I would if I had changed mine out.

Re: syty powertrain love

I have a 27 spline shaft sitting in a oily rag in the shop. Make a offer. I don't need it.
