Re: syclone 1760

Thanks Jimmy....I tried to call you the other day....

Well the syclone runs and drives now...also I deleted the abs while I was in there and replaced the stock I/C pump to a larger spare I had in the attic....Fired her up and fixed a few leaks.....drove it to the gas station, filled her up then drove back.....takes alot of cranking to start when cold, but when it fires, it runs great....starts pretty quick when warm...maybe I just need to put some miles on it...chased a couple of codes....got a code 43 and found the knock sensor plug was not fully seated....took care of that....I'm gonna go drive it again now....maybe go buy a fire extinguisher for it....It needs a major underhood cleaning now due to my paw prints getting all over it...also need to rearrange a few wires, cables ect....oh yeah, and it shifts fine....just no engine braking when in OD and decelerating....One more sy back on the road again...

Re: syclone 1760

I dont think its supposed to have engine braking in OD.
If it doesnt engine brake in D then its gota bad set of overrun clutches, I believe is what I was told about my old trans.

Glad to see you saving them by the dozen!

AWESOME!!! I'll say it again, I couldn't be happier with how that deal turned out.   I can't wait to see it at the meet. Are you still planning on sticking the Grand Sports on it for the drive??? Definately gonna take some pics. On a side note, my truck is about 85% so it will be there, but no racing for me. Plus, I have NO cladding on the rear end of my truck... Can't wait!

thanks Branden and Jason and Jac....Jas, I did have engine braking in D, so I guess all's cool for now...also verified tc unlock and lockup using the brake pedal trick at highway speed...Jac, John put the GS wheels on for me earlier....still have to whack the front axle pieces though for the center caps to fit....also threw on a spare bed cover.... here's a couple pics from right now...the top pic caught the alarm led on the mirror...still have a few thing to do to it tonight....

So Servando, what is the official count now?

3 Syclones?
2 Typhoons?

2 syclones and 1 typhoon....I let a good friend of mine have the 186k mile sy from ebay as he had been on me to find him one and I sold the 1992 black japan ty to bruce from austin...I really enjoy working on these things even though they are the toughest of any car I've ever worked on....I guess it's just the challenge that draws me...I hear that certain minivans and last gen f-bodies are pretty cramped as well.... :D
