Sy Sway Bar End Link Repair Question

One of my anti-sway bar end link bolts has backed out about half way and stripped the receiving threads in the lower control arm. Looks like I'll be drilling through the control arm and dropping a bolt through to repair the problem. On first inspection, the top side of the control arm surface doesn't look flat where the bolt would sit. For those who have already made this repair, did you hammer the top surface flat, use filler to level the surface, other?
Thanks,

Me too...I was looking at maybe a helicoil for a fix or just buying a whole new lower control arm.

Has anyone done a fix on this???

go with poly they are the best

He's not asking about the bushing, he's asking about the threads. Ther's another option for you. You can weld it up and grind it smooth, then run a tap into it and fix it that way.A bit more work, but that's how I would fix it. Or you can drill it out and weld a nut into it.

A third option is lower arms off the 2nd-gen trucks. They bolt on using end-links vs our arrangement. Probably only a useful option if you're already rebuilding the front end. That's what I'm using. hth

Thanks Norm. Welding it up and tapping new thread makes sense to me. I have no welding skills so it looks like I'll need to find some help with this one.

Rock, thanks for your response and the pic. If plan 'a' doesn't work, I may consider replacing the control arm.
