Stock Location Gas Tank/Fuel Cel Upgrade?

Tired of the Left-Turn-Slosh-no-acceleration-under-half-tank-syndrome...

Anybody have a good cheap fuel tank upgrade that fits in the stock location?

If not it's off to the old pull-n-save and time to fab my own.
GRRRRR!

I've given this some thought. I would put it where the spare tire used to fit. Not sure if NHRA or SCCA would allow the use of the stock filler routed to the inlet of the fuel cell. Not sure if an internal fuel pump can be used or if upgrading to a noisy external pump is required. I would imagine there would be improved weight distribution with the tank further back and centered.

Just finished doing a fuel tank mod, putting the pickup @ the rear of the tank & baffling it. It'll launch down to the last quart of fuel. Nothing external added to the tank, its a reversable mod. Sent the writeup & photos to Ed (fastlane@tyclone.com), but not posted yet. No road tests yet, but works great on the bench; cost maybe $20 for all the parts.

I'll send a .zip file of all the stuff if ya want.

Send it to Ian for SyTyArchives.com too, if you would.

What about adding another U-shaped baffle behind the pickup? I noticed the baffles inside a few weeks ago when I put the Walbro in, but it seemed like there was a lot of empty space between the pump and where the baffles started behind it... Probably not the easiest thing to add to a stock tank though. Just a thought...

I think I am going to head to pullnsave and get a tank and rebaffle it and relocate the pump and shove in my upgraded pump.

Do it all at once and save some effort, gain some features.
Maybe powdercoat it white?
Ok, getting crazy now...

Anyway, maybe I can build in a separate "race tank" for race fuel while I am at it?
That would be WICKED!!!
