Speeding ticket: 7yrs, 3 mo, 28d *UPDATE* Got another one

*UPDATE*

Got another ticket this morning on my way to work. I got nailed in the HOV/Carpool lane. I was running late for work and knew it was a risky move, but every other car that's driving in the carpool lane seems to only have one person in the car and not the required two or more.

Come around an overpass and motorcycle cop sitting on the shoulder. Pulls me over about 5 seconds later:

Cop: "You know you were in the HOV lane?"

Me: "Yeah"

Cop: "License please."

Me (already had it out of my wallet sitting on the console): ...didn't say anything, gave cop license.

Cop comes back a minute later, ....yada yada yada..$101 fine. :fist:

Cop: "Pull back onto .......???."

Me: didn't catch what he said because I put up the window (passenger side) in his face and signaled to merge back onto the highway.

what are you thinking ?

what are you thinking ?

I know if I pulled that here in FL I wouldnt drive on that road anymore . I know cops here REMEMBER quite well , and look for ya too . Not many trucks like ours nearby .

I see a blue undercover dakota on US 19 regularly , and that thing can move . It has a light bar that pops up under his bed cover with actuators , you cant even tell , until hes after you .

I didnt ask what was done to it when I got pulled over last month . I tried the ride the turn lane trick and merge into the straight lane at the last second . He didnt find that move of the day so amusing . 115 bucks later .

Blow Me?
They took my truck!

They took my truck!

I feel your pain Kurt, the Oregon cops took my truck last night.

They accused me of speed racing. I was asking "what the hell?", I
wasn't speeding, and there was nobody around so I certainly wasn't
racing. Accuse me of excessive accelleration, or exhibition of speed,
but speed racing. That's not even a crime, it's a cartoon.
Of course it happened Friday night, and I can't get my truck back
until Monday so on top of all of the other fees and towing fees I have
to pay those bastards $75 a day to hold onto my truck for three
nights.

They must be really bored here because they acted like I was
the biggest criminal they had ever seen. I get pulled over a fair amount, I
know the drill and it was never like this before. The cop has
his hand on his gun the whole time he's talking, actually yelling at
me. He calls in two more cars as backup so there are three cars on
me. Then the bastard has me get out, searches my truck, and pats me
down. For freaking stomping on the gas when the light turned green to
get up to the speed limit really fast?!?

Should be an easy ticket to beat, he was two blocks away and he
couldn't pace me as I was accellerating too quickly and there wasn't
time. Pacing usually has to be for 1/4 mile to be legal. There was
no radar, so basically from a block back, with 5 cars between us he
says I was accellerating too fast. Yeah, that'll hold up in court.

Anyone know a good lawyer in Portland, OR?

See how many instances ive been pulled over and the most idiotic things ive done to try to get out of them. Most of the time successful.

Heh, if you're under 21 and get 2 tickets in a year you get your license pulled. The cocksucker that gave me the ticket never told me that, so I just paid it up. :fist: About 5 months later, I get this notice my license was gone for a month. I also knew who the asshole was, and when I served jury duty he was goin about 75 in a 55, etc. etc. It said you should send your shit in 45 days in advance, and I got the notice about 25 days in advance. :fist: Couldn't get relief for it either, me and the secretary of state still have a score to settle. I've got the plan, but I'll never use it so here goes; I'd love to steal 4 of those boots they use on cars with parking violations and throw em on his ride. Lets see what the hell he thinks of that. Well, some cop in the next town over got to hear my ranting and raving about it, as I was just crusing around enjoying my last day of license before the suspension kicked in. I asked to see the gun too he was "tailing" me (AKA choose your own speed for the ticket) and was telling me I was doing 65 in a 45. I was doin 50, and told him so. He asked me if my speedo was off, I told him it was right by one of those signs in the neighboring towns. No ticket, not even a warning. I have no problem with cops giving tickets, I have a problem with shit being attached that's not mentioned on the tickets or told to you. That's unethical and on the virge of illegal. The other thing is that these assholes break as many if not more then the laws that they enforce. I've seen cops run red lights, no cherries or anything. I'm on the virge of carrying a camera and photographing them, then sending it to the city council and the news media.

Like I said before, the cops motto around here is "Do as I say, not as I do" We have several cops here that have been accused of having sex w/underage girls and one of them had to have his family pay the girls family off. These guys are still cops here and break the law all the time. I think I'm gonna start carrying my camcorder w/me 8)

i got a ticket a few days ago going 49 in what i thought was a 45 but turned out to be a 30. Sucked because it was 1AM and i was the only guy on the road and with it being a college town cops usually only pull people over to try and get people charged with DUI's but i was sober and still got a ticket for speeding. I was pulled over about 5 days earlier for going 9 over the limit and the cop gave me a sobrity test and checked my license and let me go on my way.

Exactly. My point was that 99.9999% of the time, they will show up. It's their court date. They have alot more cases than just little old you that day, I'm sure. They know exactly what day they will see in the courtroom before they even start writing the ticket.

Speaking of tickets. Without searching the archives (flog suit on) what's the latest on Radar detectors? Anyone wanna hit me up on PM to let me know what's the latest/best? Last time I looked into it, K40 was the Brian Green of detectors....(so good it must be retarded)

Thanks

Blow Me?
I've never heard of anything being better than the Valentine V-1's. Of course with my latest ticket it wouldn't have helped a bit as there was no radar used. Still, it's saved me from quite a few tickets.
