Ok i've had an issue with the proximity of the water pump outlet running right by the x-over and i'm wondering what were some solutions u guys have came up over the years to counter this problem?

i've gone through 3 hoses, (they get hot, dry out the rubber and blow through over time.) and the last one i blew was at 70 next to a ferrari, and in return for not dealing with this problem, i'm eating a headgasket because of it.

I ceramic coated the exhaust, placed a heat shield on the hose itself and the fan on the CCHE blows in the general area of it. There's three ideas.

i'm working with about 1/2" 3/4" clearance so i'm really thinking i need to reroute it. I currently had the xover wrapped, as well as wrapping the water pump hose with 1" wrap and a 2" thermal wrap over it. Here is a pic of the tight clearance. tough angle but u get the idea

check out thermo tec. i used them to cover my battery cable and starter wires that run by the header, they may make something large enough to cover your radiator hose and is supposed to be good to 2000 degrees

you need to run a different lower radiator hose or make your own. Using wrap that further limits your clearance isn't going to help. Always thought it was funny that ATR provided heat wrap for the crossover when the v band clamp is what actually lays on the stock rubber water hose.

would running a very large AN steelbraided hose fix the problem for heat?, i thought they were better for abrasion wear but i'm not sure how well it would do 1/2" from the pipe

I have these in red and I love them. You cut them to fit and route them wherever you want. They hold the position you bend them into very nicely.

Electric water pump. The lower outlet is generally threaded so you can put an elbow in there to route it wherever you want.

Low-buck back-yard idea... short chunk of SS tubing to get it past the hot part. Gotta weld a bead on the pipe to hold the hose, but it looks like it might give you enough to get by...

they make raised water pumps for the street rod suys raises it about 2 inches

i would have a 45 deg aluminum elbow welded on if it is that critical. However we have the same issue with our headers and provide a piece of rubber hose that has a sharp 45 deg bend off the water pump, then curves back around to the same location as the stock hose. I splice them together, and it seems to work well.
