Side View Mirrors

Ok I did a search around, and I really didn't find anything useful. I was wondering what options I have for getting other side view mirrors to get rid of my dumbo mirrors on the Sy. Are the typhoon mirrors the only choice, or is there another company that makes mirrors that will directly bolt on?

steet scene and apc from my knowlege.. 2 other types, apc makes a m3 like mirror and the other one is a more traditional truck style.

I just saw in the new LMC catalog that there is a new "sport mirror" for the S-series.

it comes in 3 variations, Manual, Electric and Electric Conversion

prices are $110, $195 and $300 accordingly.

Yea I wasn't sure because i went to a coulpe different websites and they weren't listed as fitting on a Syclone. The APC and Street Scene Mirrors didn't get displayed... so I didn't know if they would work.

Just do a search or listing on a 91' S-10. Anything mirrors that will fit that will work on our trucks. There are alot of options.

All of the first gen S-trucks use the same mirrors. There were a few different styles over the years, but they are all interchangeable. 82-93 (-94 for Blazer/Jimmy). I know the power Ty/Blazer mirrors require longer screws than the pickup "elephant ear" mirrors, so there are probably some other ones that will require this too.

I would guess the drilling is if you are getting the lit mirrors. Probably for the wiring. I can't see why you'd need to drill to put manual mirrors with no lights on a truck.

XBlaz,

This is kinda off the subject - but would you be able to post a few pics of your X with the turbo. Possibly share some of the things that have been done to the motor. I am sure there are a few people who would like to see it. Possibly put it in the lounge instead of here.

Thanks.

I noticed that the street scene mirrors say they require drilling.... anyone know what this entails?

The mounting studs on the SS mirrors don't line up w/ the factory holes on the door (3 ea). Some "oblonging/enlarging" is required to install.

So these "S-truck mirrors" don't actually fit right on an S-truck? Man I love some of these companies...

So what about the mirrors off of a Bravada or Blazer from the same year? Do they look nice like the typhoon mirrors or are they ugly like the syclone ones? I have been looking and it looks impossible to find typhoon mirrors. I take it that GM doesn't make them anymore either right?

I'm pretty sure they're all the same, just the "S-truck power mirrors"... There were instructions for splicing the power wiring into the Syclone wiring (there's no easy way to just plug it in or swap a whole harness over, you have to splice it), or you can leave them unpowered and manually adjust them.

CIPA makes OE-reproduction mirrors. Because I'm cheap, I was looking at some of the smaller non-power mirrors. I believe they were only used for a year or two on the early S-10s. A clone posted recently had them... Anyway, I saw a pair of them for like $30, compared to the $300 or so to adapt the Ty power mirrors to a Sy... LMC sells them for $24.95 each, which is still pretty cheap.

Sup Ben..

I sent out the money order for the mirrors this week... the guy didn't accept paypal  I should have them next week. I also got my new fog lights in today because the ones on the truck are rusted and really dingy compared to the other lights. I will take pics of it with the blazer x once I get it back. Bill is going to drive the x blaze down here on November 4th for SEMA. I am excited to be getting it back. I am going to try to have the hood painted and the mirrors on by the time the blazer gets back so I can take some photos. LOL it's funny... we have 3 s-series trucks in my house now. A Turbo Blazer Xtreme, A Syclone, and a 2003 Trailblazer with the v8.
