Went to the bell tech site ....just offered shocks ....no leaf springs....anyone got the old number if they aren't made anymore?I'd go with the Belltech lowering springs, and the set back plates before the blocks. Good Bilstein shocks (I got the HD ones). Add the rear sway bar B.T. p/n for Ty is 5524....from memory, but check it out. I would also recommend have it (them) powder coated prior to installation if it's gonna see any street time in inclemate weather. I did those rear components, the ZQ8 steering box and steering shaft at one time and it felt like a new truck.

I'm in the process of redoing my rear suspension. As of now it has 2" blocks, shims and the wheels are forward too much. My plan is to raise it back up a bit, maybe 1"-1 1/2" up to get a better ride back. My plan is AFCO rear shocks, JTR setbacks and BT leafs. Question is the leafs say for a 3" drop?? Which I DON'T want. Maybe I should just change to a 1" block? Never a fan of blocks at all. Any ideas about the leaf setup? I'm trying to get this right the first time. I want a softer ride for the street. Thanks!!

You dont need the setbacks with the BT leafs. Theyre already setup to setback
So BT leafs, JTR plates, AFCO shocks, Bell tech rear sway bar(?) and done..... ?? Willing to spend good money for a good soft ride
I've never heard or seen anything that would indicate that. If they are it's not enough. BTs with the JTR setback plates are centered nicely.
That ought to do it. Hatrik8 just did the same setup with QA1s instead of Afcos. He can comment.
Mine is a little more straight-line, Caltracs with no Swaybars, but everything else the same. I love it.
Getting rid of the drop blocks and using the Belltech leafs is probably the key. The axle has more leverage to wrap the stock springs when you use drop blocks, and also aren't designed to support the weight and ride of the truck in only 2 inches of travel; so you end up bottoming out and the rear end ends up bouncing around twisting while wrapping the springs. The shocks can't control it so doesn't really matter how good your shocks are in that situation.
