Road Trip in the Ty

Well,

I just put 1200+ miles on the Typhoon this weekend and I must say, it can't get much better.

Recently(like in the last 2-3 weeks) I've replaced the tranny/transfer case/wheels/tires/rear leaf springs/prop-shaft and prior to that I did the bushings, shocks, front wheel bearings, half shafts and tie rods(but didn't drive it because the tranny was dead). So basically, I rebuilt most of the drivetrain and to check it out, I drove it 1200+ miles just to make sure I tightened everything.

The trip went perfect, no problems(other than maybe the radiator needs cleaning/flushing). Got to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain on Thurs, Surfing in Huntington Beach on Friday(first time surfing) and got to meet up with the SoCal SyTy'ers for a bit on Saturday. Drove home Sunday.

It was an awesome trip and I got to meet some really nice SyTy people as a bonus. Now I just gotta clean up the Ty and get some pictures of it with the new 'shoes' so I can post em.

Got the ZR1 replicas with Goodyear Eagle F1 G3s. Awesome looking V tread on them. Got to drive them through the desert, through a complete downpour(couldn't see 50ft) and around the California freeways, I must say I'm quite impressed.

Cool...it's nice when things go as planned.

So does that mean you're going to come over and help me with my basket case now? :p

Actually my truck is going along pretty well...my list of stuff to do is about 1/4 the size it used to be since I've been devoting all my free time to it. I'm actually about to go out and pick up a TCC solenoid from Quebedeux GMC. Only big problem I have now is I'm almost done with my anti-knock mods and it's still getting around 6-7 degrees of retard on 91 octane...I'm running out of options. I'll probably install the manual boost controller I ordered for the truck and turn the boost down to 13 or so since right now it's waivering from 11.5-14.5 with the stock setup. Maybe later add an SMC alchy setup.
