I drove my bluebox with a light foot and no propshaft for about 2 months with no issues. I only had the urge to do one small burnout to get it out of my system.
Fair warning, it becomes very easy to kick out the rear without the shaft in, so if your heavy on the gas around corners or take something fast in the rain, you may want to carry an extra pair of boxers or briefs with you
You shoud see a bit better gas mileage too if you remain with easy driving, dont have that extra parasitic loss from AWD.
