Re:Replace MAP sensor still get a code 33

Hey guys,

Replaced the MAP sensor after I was getting a code 33. Disconnected the battery and started today and still gets a code 33. Is there a fuse for the MAP circuitry. Any other suggestions? Symptoms still the same no factory boost gage reading and truck acting like "limp home mode"

Thanks,

I would first check the vacuum lines going to map sensor.

All vacuum lines still appear to be connected I replaced the band clamps with zip ties. If it was low on vacuum it would be code 34. Electrical connection or sensor failure was code 33, I thought. Any ideas?

Re-using the old original rubbber elbow is a recipe for disaster, they are often the source vacuum and boost leaks. I would not drive your truck with out verifying them or replacing them. When I mean verifying them I mean checking with pressure and guage for leaks. Its not worth blowing your motor over $20-30 of hoses.

The factory boost guage and ECM use the MAP sensor for a reading, so I woulod guess if your boost guage is reading in the middle for 2 bar, your ECM isn't getting a reading either.

You can put it on scan tool and see exactly what the ecm is reading. If you have a mitivac you could directly connect it to MAP sensor pressure source and test to see if its responding (you should be able to do this with the engine off, key on)

That code will also set if your ground circuit is open or MAP sensor signal wire (Lt Green) is shorted.

Ok have Ian's vacuum kit will replace all the lines. Started with the solenoid and wastegate lines already.

Thanks,

Would this be main ground to engine block? Or is there another ground on the firewall for the sensors?

Will check circuits also!
