preliminary nitrous testing 300 shot too much!!!!

Just some early numbers, what im running is a single port fogger kit(dry) in the intake tube between i/c and the throttle body, IAT temps dropped 35 degrees (5 degrees below ambiant), turbo spool was instant, and horsepower improved, also best part no knock, it looks like I have more then enough injector to support more nitrous but until i get a second bottle it will have to wait. All of this testing is done on a dyno so figure a error factor of 7% for the incresed air flow over the a2a

Im taking it slow right now gradually increasing the pill sizes so we can determine the safe amount to run, i planned on tearing the motor down when testing is complete to rering and rebearing it because its getting alot of abuse on the dyno, so that will be the final determining factor as to the "safe" amount. It looks like as of now 150hp is a same ammount for the truck, now to find a converter to survive the shock of the turbo and bottle.

you are NOT having an issue with overboosting or whacky boost control ?

Just curious, I've seriously considered this on my truck once its back together and I'd like more details.

Whats yer build ?
What RPM is boost coming on ?
How high up are you winding the truck ?
Does the 150 shot really equate to 150 on the dyno ?

the nitrous is on at the line basically as soon as the truck launches, we planned on the boost jumping when the n2o is on so we fueled for it.
my build is stock block,stock heads,custom cam,single plane intake,custom upper, full interior,a/c weve spun the motor 6500, but plan on swapping some stuff to be able to hit 7k, the 150 shot is about 150 on the dyno

Well we were doing the last pull before tearing the motor down, so I decided to put a little more nitrous through the motor 300 is too much with 18psi it blows the rings off the pistons, no other damage it was cool for a second, well new rings and bearings were planned anyways so no harm no foul. Its just kinda cool to launch flames out the downpipw when all hell breaks loose

LMAO !! I hope that was video taped.... I'd like to see it if it was... Flames out the exhaust would be COOL !

Nope no tape no enough fore thought it was more up a no point in tearing down a good motor lets see how much nitrous shell take.

Not that its any useful info but Car Craft picked up a stock ~76 350 to strap to a dyno and feed nitrous till it puked. They collapsed the ring lands with a 300 shot on the last pull (actually they did it when they purged the N2O). Anyway, just thought Id mention it since you guys had issues at about the same level.
