Re: Possible Interest
yeah i built that truck. it has a butt-ton of nice parts on it, and a lot of time and materials to replace all the rusted parts. the entire fuel system as well as a portion of the suspension hardware has been replaced due to rust and an abundance of aftermarket undercoating. the truck is pretty nice but it was a northern truck. its best suited as a driver and not a collector, since it has seen many northern winters already. i havnt seen the truck in a year but it was pretty nice when it left here.
was kind of a funny project..... he dropped it off on a tow truck in a million pieces, with so many aftermarket parts stuffed in the back of it, almost couldnt get the hatch closed. the entire dash and top end of the motor was off the truck. the customer started the project and just got way over his head. i had talked to him on the phone and tried to give him some kind of an idea what it would cost to put it back together. to my surprise it needed a LOT more work than i was aware of. we went WAY over budget. a lot of the parts he had werent made for a syty, some of the parts couldnt be installed without making further repairs due to the rusty fuel system and undercarriage, some of the parts id never seen or heard of. the install required minor fabrication, and a bunch of random parts that he hadnt planned on. when the truck drove away i was glad to see it go because i had a lot more time than i could charge him for invested in the truck and he was already pretty irate that it was over budget. i guess if neither one of us was happy we probably split the difference. depending on what the asking price is it might be a pretty decent deal. i know he has a ton of cash in it.
