Yes, if you see in that pic there is a spacer on front, I can just suspect it was due to a miscalculation, not sure it really does anything besides make things the right length.

I think you right on the mis calculation becuase the second shaft I got from his next GP does not have the spacer:tup:

I sent an email to you stating that you can put me down for one for the price of 350.

Re: Possible 32 spline input shaft GP

Ok, Jeff and I have talked this over, and since my shaft is now twisted, and the trans is out, I need one of these asap. Jeff has assigned me w the details of getting this together. I have talked to 4 shops plus the ones jeff contacted already. I am being held up by the lack of some engineering info on the 32 spline output. I am looking for spline pitch and pressure angle info. Once I get this, a quote should be a few days away. I plan on driving my truck by the beginning of feb.so I want these done by mid Jan. I will post up pricing and detailed eta as soon as i get the needed info. If you have access to this info let me know and I can get the ball rolling. I want to get some pricing by jan 1

I don't know if this helps, but my work contract out a lot machining (we have a machine that shows up a couple times a week). I am pretty sure that he could machine something like this.

Truthfully the machine work is no that difficult, we could actually do it on Jeff's equipment, its just tedious when dealing with any quantity. I can send a sample input and output, and a they will do quote. I dont have 6 inputs and 6 outputs to send all over the US. I am just trying to get a survey of costs so we get the best part for the best price. I can get a wider range of quotes with the specific numbers. I contacted a few places today that should have the broaching equipment on hand for the gm 32 spline, they do a lot on industrial machining, but have strong roots in aftermarket automotive parts. Hopefully over the next couple of days I'll get word.

2661.....If you want to get me contact info on your guy, I'll try him as well.

Re: Possible 32 spline input shaft GP

The 2 or 3 rough quotes we have already are about 1/2 half that price.

and your point? If i really wanted to be an ass i would have posted them for a dollar less and available to ship today, but i'm not trying to discredit or take away a great deal for a group purchase.. theres obviously a reason they are so cheap, and it isnt because they are sitting on the shelf ready to ship. I was simply providing a solution to those who have mentioned they are in a bind and need one ASAP. Considering you guys have already been talking about these for over 4 months with not even a first article to show for it.... well some people obviously understand and paid extra to have a proven piece immediately.

My point being why they are taking a while to spec out and make a quality component at a REASONABLE price. It takes a little while and you are being a ass by whoring your products on this thread! You got your forum to sell stuff do it there. This is like someone selling their truck in classifeds and you post your truck for sell in the same thread.

If we wanted to get them done quickly we would just by one of your shafts copy it, make some slight changes to it making it inferior and claim that it is superior. But you wouldn't know anything about that would ya.

Keep alienating potential customers, making warped valve covers, and have a Merry Christmas.:bigfinger

Really tho.. Why bash on someone that is offering a product for those that need it right away? We already have VERY few vendors, why make more run away? Makes no sense. This community used to be very tight group of people. But lately its all about who'ss "Balls" are bigger to talk shit about someone else. This is the main reason why people tend to move away from such forums/sell their trucks, etc... Lets all just get along people. Yea maybe Mike shouldnt have posted what he had for sell, but he was just making it aware to people who might want it NOW, not a couple months from now.

One person mention needing it ASAP in the whole thread. PM's work great. He should have tried that. Plus a ebay link to the shop making the shafts was previously posted.

BTW the person asking for one "asap" has been burned before by the atomic rooster boy products and would not use his stuff anyway!

ghetto attacked my post and I responded. Its not the first time he has attacked me via a post. If he wishes to continue to bash I will return in kind. :2cents:

Seriously, you and the rest of the JSM crew need to grow up. I did not attack your post, nor have i ever instigated a public bashing towards you or any of the JSM crew. Contrary to what you want to believe, i am always defending myself not going out of my way to bring up stuff from 5-8 years ago. And much of it, just like your misrepresentation of our warped valve covers is 100% fabricated bull$hit.

All BS aside, Jeff is a great asset to the SYTY community. Maybe 5+ years ago we bashed heads, but i think we have both moved on. I don't see him coming on the boards attacking me, and vise versa. It's usually guys like you who have 2nd or 3rd hand information that just want to fabricate stories, and stir up drama. If i saw Jeff at the Nats i would probably walk up, shake his hand and say hi. Yet guys like you who i have never even sold anything to yet alone talked to have more to say than anyone..

I seriously hope this GP becomes a success. If i wanted to steal your potential customers i would run a GP on my own for the same price and be shipping them tomorrow. The fact i am selling them for almost double should indicate i am not trying to compete with you, jeff or whoever is actually involved in making these things. Guys who are spending hundreds of dollars in storage fees, inconvenience, etc have a right to know there is a solution. I'm not holding a gun to their head saying you must buy mine.

I think (as a local group) we're a bit more tight knit than to call any of our ramblings or "drama" 2nd or 3rd hand knowledge. Having put my hands on both sets of products, I've just called it like I've seen it. I think Jeremy has the same experience/knowledge to draw from.

This is the main reason why people tend to move away from such forums/sell their trucks, etc...
Do people seriously sell their trucks because of some crap someone said on the internet? Sounds like more of a self esteem, personal confidence issue, than something our collective group of keyboard commando's should have to deal with.

Beyond all this madness, does anyone else see the irony in us discussing a fix for what was once the "bulletproof" solution for these trucks? The 80e seems to be touted as the end all be all of transmission fixes. I've now worked on 4 trucks that have broken/twisted/bent something and had to pull the transmission again to fix it.....Just kinda funny to me :D

All I know is that I want the JSM crew to hurry up and finish these things so that I can bolt my tranny & transfer-case together and then look at them for 4+ years before they ever make it into the truck.. ;)

Re: Possible 32 spline input shaft GP

Here is the fact, I am just too busy to do everything I once did. I would put the JSM crew (basically 4 of us) as the most close knit local group in probably ALL of syty. Last saturday all 4 of us worked on both my truck and another. JSM is a group of syty enthusiasts now, JSM as a company is gone honestly. My job keeps me busy and when I come home i want to enjoy the trucks not build trucks and pieces everyday for other people. I still help out when I can (Tytanic) but I do it on my schedule now.

As far as the shafts go, I have felt since George offered them for $650 it was beyond most peoples budget. Add in an adaptor plate, transmission, controller and it just isn't something a majority of owners can justify spending. It appears from what I have seen on boards Mike has taken over Georges stuff, which is fine and great for those in a need TODAY with a pocket book that will allow it.

With my Engineering degree and background if I can help to make a solution via a GP available to help everybody (my past customers, as well as George's, Mikes, etc.) why not?

Hardman toasted a convertor the other day (well it happened while I was driving), I have broken an output shaft and found JB weld in my tranny George built requiring some new parts, Jeremy has been through a TCC clutch and had his trans freshened. As the JSM crew we do a lot of testing you could say for the rest. As Crazykaese was saying in chat one night the JSM crew has broken every 4l80e we have. This is not to say they are weak, we are hard on things its that simple.

I think where this thread lost its smooth sailing in with Mike posting his product in our thread. Not once did we bash him, his products, price or anything before. His solution is well known and public several other places on syty. No secret and for those that need one if they can't find that they are not doing a lot of research.

The other fact Mike is if you did offer a shaft for half the price we would have probably never even started this, or would I have a list of people wanting these.

I am not an owner for the money, I don't visit syty.net to make my next paycheck. I am here because I enjoy them, I am on the phone as often as possible giving free tuning advice, or any syty advice I can offer.

JSM is now Jeremy Scott Mike's Mafia

Re: Possible 32 spline input shaft GP

Don't forget big willies busted 80e awhile back. That might've been a fluid fill problem that developed at highway speeds (Subsequently covering my windshield in trans fluid), but it was another busted trans none-the-less :D :D
