POS wont start now

Re: POS wont start now

If you definitely have both spark and fuel pressure, your ignition module is dead. A bad ignition module won't generate a reference pulse preventing the injectors from firing. Part number is 1048-2827 (located under your distributor cap, BTW).

If you have a scan tool, check to see if it's getting DRPs (reference pulses). If it isn't, it's a bad module.

No hijack but related question. Does an ign module either work or not work, or is there an in-between, lets drive the owner nuts, mode?

have you tried a noid light yet? If the light doesn't blink when cranking pretty sure it's an ignition module. if your pick up was bad you wouldnt get spark either :2cents:

You don't need a noid to check to see if the injectors are getting a reference pulse or not, a simple test light will work as well. The brightness of the light doesn't matter so long as it lights.

In my experience once an ignition module goes bad, it stays that way. There is no sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. Like any other electronic device, it is prone to acting up if it gets too hot. Given it's location and condition of the heat sink grease that helps to keep it cool it could cause issues if the truck is hot vs. cold.

so it started 2 days ago now nothing has fuel pressure at rails and fire at coil. why wont it start. it turns over and over and over with no fire and no luck what is the problem

just cause you havefuel at the rail dont mean the injectors are firing it in .... and if you have spark... sray some starting fluid inthe throttle body with it open
