pontiac heads question.

I'm thinking on buying some pontiac heads . Do anybody know if i could use all my valvetrain setup that i have on my stage 3 vortec heads on the pontiac heads ( promagnum roller rockers , etc ... ) ? That would save me some money or would i need to buy the jesel setup ?

There is no f way to use something else than the jesels
If you do that be sure to get offset rockers since the intake ports are big
I can send some pics if you want
Youre looking for +6k for heads,intakes,tb,t cable,jesels etc
If i was going to do this again id go with the 18*w/stroker cshaft
18* has better exhaust flow and doens require a big custom cam at the exhaust side

I changed my mind on the oddfire crank and i am gonna get an billet stroker crank with an big bore so close to 300 ci . So now i think my vortec heads would be a little small for this setup ( i think ) . 6 K for the complete setup !!!!! OMG . So does the 18 degrees heads needs heavy porting jobs to get them to flow realy good ?

they flow really well as they are and even better worked. I flowed a stock bowtie a while back and it rocks on the top. for what it's worth, the heads work best at higher rpm's so cam and everything appropriately. as well as the head change you will also have to use a different intake system a;nd everything that goes alone with it. are you familiar with the tuning charastics of the oddfire crank. what are you running for a computer? how bout distributer?

damn it's a lot of work(read that as MONEY) that's why i didn't do it and went with the vortecs heads. i also like the way mine runs on the street. just putts around like a docile little critter. :wink:

Thats why i'm getting an stroker evenfire crank . I have accel DFI GEN 7 . I wouldn't like to rev it that high , so if i would only like to rev it to 6500 k MAX would i need those "big"heads ? And what bore do you have 100in6 ? I would realy like to use my stage 3 heads and my modified ramjet intake manifold . What could be a problem if i use the stroker with big bore with the stage 3 heads ? Would i need to change anything on the heads to make them work or something .

Just came back from a race
If you use the 280cfm vortecs w/300cui you go for a torque master engine with lower stall speed tq. This will work but with a bigger set of heads you will see more hp.
Since you got the vortecs give it a try with the 300cui.Im sure youre gonna love it
