I had a local shop replace my Syclone shaft with a new 94 Jeep shaft. Steering wheel has about an inch of free play if I hold the middle of the shaft.
Any ideas?
Won't help what you have but I bought a Hooker shaft. It is part of their LS swap in S10 package. Narrower than the Jeep or Astro shaft and looks slick. It's not much more than most are getting for the used shafts also....

That's it. They have a couple of different ends. Make sure you get the correct end. I had to trim a little bit off the end to fit but no issues to speak off.
I decided to re-do the job myself. How do you get to the steering box (lower u-joint) to remove the shaft? I can barely see the box let alone get a wrench down there.
Sir,
Spin it to get the bolt up and use a long extension. Then use a small hammer and tap it up. Make sure the shaft can collapse might need to spray a little oil in there if it is an old removal. Hope this make sense.
