Part Store Fools

does anyone else have stories about these guys. I can come back every time with some sort of story about the jackasses that work at these places (autozone, shucks, etc.)...

I took my minigate in today looking for some fittings that were the right size. I couldn't find any fittings in the store, so I thought i'd ask were the fittings are (isn't that what they are for)? Anyway, I show the guy the hole's and he says "what is that thing, a piston".........I said no, does it really look like a piston with the two ports, flange's, etc...."then what is it".....anyway, i proceeded to actually leave that place and found them at another store, but my God, if you think a WG is a piston, then you shouldn't be working at a place like that.

I had to vent, it irritates me!

I know how it is to try to get parts. It sucks around here also. I went to 3 different placed to find fittings for my mini gate. not a one had a clue what it was. What you are using to control your mini gate? i have tried a boost valve and i am using a regulator now. my next mod is a Greddy profec b boost contoller. since the mini gate has so small of a spring 10 lb. it is hard to get the turbo to spool up fast after about 15 psi.

Ask Adam about what it was like to work at Auto Zone from the other side of the fence. He once said his typical day went something like this:

Walk in, check computer for Correct SyTy Sparkplug
Note Computer says R43TS
Send note to Coporate that correct PN is CR42TS
Wash / Rinse / Repeat for months on end.

ok well theres been countless times where i go to pep boys, autozone, kragen, napa, napa and pep boys dont even have the sy or ty in there system, autozone they are all idiots, and kragen there website is ok, well when i was lookin for the corect pvc valves, az, pb, napa, didnt know what i was talking about, one guy from napa goes "isnt that the truck with a 454 in it, i walked away, i finnaly got them at kragen the guy actually knew what it was, but yea 95% of them dont have any idea what it is, and the best was a guy from pep boys he tells me go to the kawasiki dealer cause he thaught it was a motorcycle.......cmon people whats wrontg with them///////

Thats why I trust the local family owned place here in town. The owner and the son have about a 100 car collection between them two. They know every car on earth.

You can walk into this store, needing say, a water pump to a 56 Studebaker, and if they dont have it in stock, they can get it there tomorow. They know there shit. (odds are they would have it in stock though, they just order shit because they think someone will come in and need it. Which is nice to have some people like that)

This is the same guy (the owners son) who wants to buy my Z28 to make it a race car or something fun, just because he can, and its the strongest ls1 car around.. Nice guys.
