Output shaft question.

From what I understand the output shaft is syty specific. I'm rebuilding one out of a 92 typhoon at the moment and the rear planet has melted down due to low trans fluid. The output shaft looks like it has been hot and I think it is best to replace it. I've got an output shaft from from a standard 4x4 that I can swap in. Has anyone done this before? Any down sides? They are dimensionally the same but there are some marked differences. The syty unit has 2 grooves near the output end of the shaft. The oil holes are also in different locations.

Thanks,

Brian

Pretty sure they are specific, I have one I can sell it is missing the plastic oil scoop as I used it on my 80E swap

they are syty specific but you can use a 4x4 unit all the same. I've done it several times when the stock one broke or needed replacement. have it cryo'd if your worried about it.
