Hello all,
I believe in giving praise where praise is due.
I'm trying to stay as original as possible with my Sy.
My original radio worked BUT the right front speaker was barely audible and the right rear just cracked, popped and hissed and was unbearable to listen to.
With no need for a big system in the truck, the decision was made to pursue repairing the original unit.
I got on the web and found a local company that does OEM radios by the bunches.
Speaking with them, they were well-versed with the exact symptoms I was experiencing: it stems from faulty OEM capacitor failure and I/C board replacement. Seems it's commonplace with these units.
They are nice folks to deal with, great communications, fast service and what I consider a fair price ($140 delivered).
The radio is now back in my truck and sounding fantastic.
I couldn't be happier.

They even have some OEM GM radios in stock. Maybe you all might find a replacement for the old am/fm cassette originals?
