i don´t have 80PSI at 2Krpm...

mine is more like 40PSI...

iám watching my gauge since running this engine.....
i have an itchy feeling......

maybe the turbo bearing is shot and it loses pressure (let´s block it off and just let it idle)

anny thing other that i could give a try=

have blocked of the turbo feed line for a few sec. under idle, to see if it was the turbo....it wasn't

have cut open my filter to see what's in there.....nothing.

is there a simple way to test my oil-pump, without taking the engine out?

when engine is cold it will give me 60PSI
when oil is warm (60 degrees) it will give me 20

What kind of oil pump did you use? If its a stock replacement then it could be normal with loose bearing clearances. If its anything other than stock (high volume, Z28, etc) then your oil pressure is low IMO.

The only way to get to it is pull the engine or drop the oil pan neither of which are quick or easy.

it's a high volume oil-pump.
i have looked trough the oil circuit, and i have the feeling that my bypass spring (in the block) stays open..

my oilcooler gets hot rather quick, so i think that''s the problem..

Does annybody know at wich pressure the bypass spring should open?
if it stays open, the fluid will search for the circuit with the lowest resistance, and that is the cooler/filter circuit.

what do you think?

could priming the engine with tomuch pressure blow something, like a seal wich should hold pressure??

if annybody got the GM partnumber for the checkvalve that is under the filterrelocation adapter (in the block) give it to me, so i can order itl test it, before i take the engine out?

Thanks

What bearing clearences was the engine assembled with ? One thousandth of an inch makes a big diff in bleed rates...
