After finally getting some time to get down to JSmanufacturing I am happy to report.. I have what appears to be an LS6+Typhoon compliant oil pan...

A great many thanks to Jeff and Mike D for their time and skills on this pan !! This looks awesome, its ashame it going on the bottom of the motor !

Oil pan 1

Notched out to clear front differential and sectioned to allow engine placement....
Oil pan 2

Hmmmmmmm those -08 fittings in the side of the pan look suspect
Oil pan 3

It looks like powder coat to me. Really nice. Do you have any in progress pictures?

Jup, silver vein (sp ?) powder coating. Courtesy of JSMan garage with Mike D (2kwik4u) doing the shooting.

The big news is the fact that its sectioned ready to bolt to the LS6 motor to clear the front differential on the Typhoon. I didnt get any 'in process' pics. I intended to but sorta didnt work out that way. My camera is somewhat unhappy about taking low-light pics anyhow. I need to read up on that function !

After the first of the year, I hope to have the frame shot with POR-15 (firewall forward) and maybe finally BOLT SOME STUFF DOWN !! :woot: :woot:

Anyhow, the powdercoating stuff I dont know alot about, but it seems pretty simple, shoot it and heat it !

I wanted to have something that was going to be durable and allow the pan to remain somewhat CLEAN appearing. I think this is a great compromise.

I think this is a great compromise.

Compromise, where???????

O wait, I did all the work as you a DOH brick sat and BS'ed and made fun of me.

Mental note: don't let more than 1 friend in JSM facility at a time, as they tend to gang up on me.

Jeff,

That's when you piss on his parts to cool the welds.

The JS garage sounds like a good time.
I'll have to come visit next spring some time.

Still craving a 3" dp for my 20G and a tubular crossmember to replace the torsion bar member.

Stories always happen when you hang out in the JSM garage.

Not many people can claim to only find out they have a lathe in their truck, JUST before they are leaving to go home.

Of course that same lathe almost ended up in the other half's tahoe, in which case I would be sleeping outside.

Dobrick even took video of some of this weekends crazy adventures.
