Not my project, but I'd kill for someone to market this...

I don't really see a future in the white box with a red X... :p

without checking out the link...

guessing hes cutting it up to shorten the length to bolt onto a V6?

For Vortecs, I have no doubt. That intake is made to fit Vortec V8 heads, if cut down properly, will fit the Vortec V6 heads (see the bosses for the intake bolts?). Intake runners should match up to the Vortecs perfectly, rather than the mismatch every syty intake has on a Vortec head.

I believe Mike's would be around $2000.. that's the going rate for a custom sheetmetal intake.

Hasn't been done for the Vortecs though.. that's for his own motor... Jeff Scott has done one for the Vortecs. Not ripping on Jeff, cuz it's not an easy ordeal by any means, but Wilson's or Hogan's intakes look prettier.

The Ramjet intake costs $350, then figure whatever you can get the labor done for - cut in half, rewelded up, block passages. Probably need custom fuel rail. Then you can sell your stock syty intake to help fund that (if you would part with those).

As Green mentioned, I have been playing with an intake or two. As he also mentioned, mine isn't as glamourous looking as Hogan's, but getting better with each effort.

If I was to do it again, I WOULDN'T. Way to much stress, work involved.

But with that said, I did, and will be pulling my own ty apart in a week or two, to install heads, and hopefully my custom intake.

I like the ramjet idea, for fact 90% of work is already done. That mod could be done in quantity if it proves to work well.

Each of our manifolds are custom built to your exact head ports, deck height, etc. so they are 100% custom. Depending on your hp goals and application the plenum and runners could also very in size and length. The intakes are $2550, and that comes with the fuel rails installed..

Definately not something i recommend as a suitable upgrade for mild builds. They are mainly for guys running 18deg heads, or modified heads where getting the daytona manifold is hard to line up.

this could be a really good idea.
has anyone checked to see if the LS1 idle air control valve and throttle position sensor would be compatible with our ECM?

Can't believe GM killed that for the v6 edition. My neighbor works for GM 370 plant that builds the Trailblazers, Olds, GMCs and GM was constantly harping on the 6 cylinder vs v8 war taking the side that the 6 can be just as powerful as the v8 with better mileage and less parts/space occupied. Of course this was right before it was approved for them to put V8s in the Olds SUV.

Would the throttle body have to be changed as well to work with the ramjet?
All this stuff always looks so good and then I remember someone has to pay for it.

kinda looks like the idler and the radiator hose will be in the way of the new front mounted throttle body.

just thinking out loud.......
