I guess you guys aren't reading my message on the western gathering forum? Tom told me there will not be a summer party at his house this year or any year in the future. 2006 was the last one. It is time to move on since his Ty is SOLD! He appreciates everyone's participation over the years and good luck to everyone with their trucks.

So that officially ends the bay area SyTy fun get togethers unless someone else steps up to start a new tradition? Any takers? I have no interest in co-organizing another event. I leave that chore up to someone else. Let me know what you all want to do or not do?

I guess I'm going to sell mine as soon as I can AFFORD SOMETHING ELSE. It failed smog and is now labeled a "Gross Poluter" in California. The local GMC dealer is telling me that with 65k miles on my engine, I have an internal engine failure which is why it fails test due to excessive hydro carbons. They also say I have irregular compression on all cylinders so oil is blowing by the rings. About all they can do to make it maybe pass smog is put into the crankcase a heavier oil and a bottle of this thick goop which will help reduce smoking enough that it will pass and buy me 2 more years so I can save to get rid of it and buy something else. I have no interest to rebuild the engine nor do I have the money right now since I have been out of work since January.

Time to move on for me too it seems?

Mike mentioned Susi in Roseville is interested in hosting....anyone know how to set it up?? Why not have it out here toward the Sierra foothills?? Maybe make it a moveable gathering, yr to yr??

Next year I hope to have my new house set up. On a acre with a 4 car garage, pool, and enough parking for everyone. Bad part is it will be in the heat of morgan hill. The heat killed me last year and our trucks did not like it either. If we have it where its hot it must be early or late in the year. I dont know who susi is??? roseville is a 2 hour drive for me but it would be easier for the guys up north. If no one steps foward with a date I will soon. As far as where.... I will do it at my house if need be. Most bay area guys have already been there.

I'd do it up here in the hills if I still lived at my old house. 3.5 acres, big driveway, neighbors were always o.k. w/me using their parking pad as well. Sucks to be house poor......:banghead:

I've got a great location here just north of Santa Rosa. The one time I attempted a get-together here everybody bailed. Tons of room. Some good photo ops. The owner builds hot rods and has the worlds largest oil can collection. I could prolly get some cool local iron. The one downside is I'd have to charge a small fee up front (kinda like a group purch.) to rent a portable toilet. (Those things ain't cheap.) More comers = smaller fee.

June is gonna be too soon of course but maybe July or Aug. Not my property so a date would have to be arranged.

I am planning on mid-late July at Stevens tire shop. Its in santa clara,ca. It has a parking good sized lot to hold all our trucks. I will be BBQing food and have plenty of soda and drinks. Nothing big or fancy, just anyone who wants to hang out and BS. final date will be posted soon.

Any weekend after July 14 is good for me.
I also have a large place to use. It is my shop and it has a Soda machine full of Beer, and free Ice. But it is just a little south for a NoCal meet.
3 hours from L.A. and the Bay.

Both weeks work for me, I will be driving my Camaro not the Sy ( it would be a miracle if I drove it ) but either of those weekends will work for me, and any of those locations work for me.....so I guess I'm easy.
