I would have to agree w/ Austin on this one. Get the thing installed and all the bugs worked out of it. Then wait for the right buyer. Once the S-10 is cashed in, then you will be that much closer to a Sy. These are opinions and not fact. :tup:

Sonoma GT cladding is also available in Fiberglass from

As far as hard to get - OEM GT cladding is worth way more then Syclone cladding.

Thanks. Ok guys I understand the diffs between the sogt & the sy cladding. I've decided to drop the 350 tbi in, hang my head & forget the clone idea cause even the fiber glass cladding is way too outrageous for my wallet. However I think I'll spend around 600$ on a gfx/cladding kit for a newer s10 then custom-ize it myself. Who knows when I finish this conversion I might not even think twice about sytys but for now I'm going to stick with what I can afford. I appreciate all the helpful info guys & you have some great vehicles no doubt :tup: :syty:

FYI - there is a guy on the s-series forum that is making a SyTy looking front cover that bolts to your existing steel bumper for around $500.00. Something to think about. Then all you would have to do is buy a rear roll pan and you have 1/2 a clone.

I'd most definitely put'em nose to nose but man i'm :usa: & unless it's jus to canada or somewhere close to the US border i think it would be pretty expesive $$$ to meet up. However it'd be cool seeing the footage & pics of 'em .... in due time i'll have tons of bothT-56 said:Very wise move.:tup:

?? are you going to buy a 2nd gen kit and try to get it to fit on a 1st gen ???

Wow - that is going to be an big undertaking as there isn't much about the 1st / 2nd gen's that are the same. I commend you for thinking about undertaking such a project.

yeah that's going tobe the biggest body difference when you see it coming. I've always admired the 2nd gens for their looks. The rounded off front fenders that semi wrap around don't look too good in my :2cents: opinion. My dad is pretty decent with body work, fiberglass & he's going to teach me the art for my creative ideas . Anyways I'd like the sy or sogt cladding but in the aspect of customization I think the 2nd gen kit when done right & finished would be a headturner don't you?
