New SSBC brakes w/ crossdrilled rotors PICS!

Heres pics of the new SSBC caliper/pad set (A181 from Summit) and cross drilled rotors (Stripper Motorsports) that I just installed on the Ty.

I have the same calipers on my ty, they work pretty good, I had to bleed them a few times though to get the pedal firm.

these are stock rotor size, right?

question, why didnt you go with the ls1 kit?
dont know too much about brakes, just curious as too why you went with this kit.

Looks good. I kinda like the gold rotors. I was under the impression that cross drilled rotors weren't a good idea for our trucks because all the heat of boost lanching could crack them easier. Cross drilled look GOOD though.

Yeah....fits the stock wheels...all stock size, just upgraded. The calipers are dual piston. And its a lot cheaper than the ls1's.

im scared for you with those lugs.... a little bit of rust gets in there they dont like to come off.... go with the regular chrome ones

I have the same calipers on my ty, they work pretty good, I had to bleed them a few times though to get the pedal firm.

With any new calipers you have to bleed, pump up the pedal and bleed again since you get air bubbles that stick inside the caliper and need evacuated. Had to do it a few times with my LS1's as well.

Hey Charlie,

The truck never gets to see a drop of rain. Only if i was at an event but other then that my truck is kept locked and secured in the garage 24/7 until i drive it. Actually me and Harry Anderson are going out 2morrow Thursday to do some tuning with the new converter and controlled boost levels. Should be a good day and very nice one @ that for the weather.

Gotta get home to clean it up for the show on Saturday. Alot of work ahead of me!

I just installed the C5 kit from CBR performance last night on my Sy and highly recommend it. Easy install with the provided instructions, CBR will even do the spindle mods for $125 if necessary, of course it takes a few extra days since you have to mail them your spindles. Pictures to follow!
