So I just had a lot of fun reading everything posted about Syclone #1983 from you guys above. I just bought it Monday from a guy in Kansas City, which was posted on Ebay. He told me that he bought it from Ebay as well and had it shipped here from San Francisco. It was supposedly in a dealers collection (you know how stories go), and this dealer owned 44 Nissan dealers across the country, few of which are in Florida. That persons name is still on the FL title as the guy I purchased this truck from is also a dealer and owns a custom auto shop.
I was really hesitant to buy it once I saw the mods done. However saying that, the truck has an EXCELLENT paint job and new ZR1 wheels. It also has the original wheels. But this being my second Syclone I knew what to look out for, and these mods just screamed run away. However I took it for a drive and was really impressed with how well it ran and how fast it was. I watched it idle a long time while laying on the ground. I noticed the flywheel cover was missing and proceeded to ask him the long list of questions. He had very little idea about what was done because during our phone conversations he stated it was all stock. It's not. PTE turbo, bunch of the normal mods, looks like ready for code #59 or already running that, etc etc. I knew I was overwhelming him with these q's, and I told him I was pretty disappointed that I drove over 2hrs for this truck only to find out these surprises.
Anyway, I took it on chance, mainly because of how nice it looked and ran. It didn't leak and it started very easy (like on half a crank). So what I'd like to know is the history of owners and what mods are done exactly? Was this motor rebuilt, it looks like it has been. I know that the trans was rebuilt back in 02'ish. Is the beefier prop shaft still on here? Can we get a list of mods after the owners names going in this post?
I really appreciate all of you guys connecting on here and talking about this truck! I plan to keep it, even though I said that about my old #1426. The guy who bought it came out of nowhere and really really wanted truck, which has been sitting the past two years. That in itself is a pretty funny story. I basically sold that truck Sunday afternoon, started looking on CL and Ebay, and bought #1983 Monday after work. lol. Oh well, it sits really nice next to my WE4. Atleast now they both have show quality paint and matching (kinda) wheels.
