speaking for texas....if you really think about it, there are plenty of owners here...either they don't read the forum regularly or don't care to check in....hell when i met up with trey in austin, i saw 4 trucks in a very short time...there are at least 6 trucks in austin...there are owners in houston and dallas... san antonio also has a few owners there...daron just moved there along with two trucks...dennis o. has a sy and ty as well as a TTA i think...there is also a guy in SA named ron that has a truck that he was working on...i've contacted all of those guys before but there was no interest in meeting or nothing ever materialized ...i heard about a black/gray pre prototype typhoon that a guy owns in SA...they say it's not running correctly and it's for sale...i need to follow up on that one next time i'm up there...the erickee just bought his sy from there as well the other day...my syclone had been sitting on a ranch for every bit of 8 years when i got it...seems like the texas owners aren't so "in" to their truck's that they feel they have to meet up regularly....though i'd be down for a meet once in a while....the trucks are out there, just have to beat the bushes to find them...as far as meeting, doesn't seem realistic...this isn't the northeast where there are millions of people every few square miles...if i were to drive north on I35, it would probably take me 13 hours just to get to the texas/oklahoma border....

When I lived in DFW, we would always say there are only 4 SyTy'ers in the area: me, Don, Rudy, and Patrick. We would always get together and wrench, hang out, and go to the track. Nobody else would ever show up.

One guy had a Sy and lived in Carrollton. He literally lived less than a mile from me, and we'd invite him to do stuff but it was always one excuse after another. Seems so much easier just to say "No, I'm a lame ass and I don't enjoy the company of others who share the same interests as me." and be done with it.

I'm still here. My Ty will be running around summer.

I missed alot of the DFW get wrench sessions because I just wasn't reading the board. I was taking a break from cars altogether due to massive burn out.

We had a meet in '98. 23 trucks, most from north texas due to flooding in south texas at the time. I still need to scan those pics.

What ever it takes!!
I must say I yet to have seen a syclone or Typhoon run at any tracks around here or anywhere other than myself.
I never can seem to get other syty's to join me with there trucks as well. All well life is too short to wait on others. If action speaks louder than words than I'm  .

Hey, I'm always up for a meet! True, TX has its fair share of trucks, but as Servando pointed out, sheer geography makes it difficult for most of the TX owners to meet on anything but a special occasion.

FWIW, Bruce & I will be representing at the upcoming S Series meet here in Austin in March I think. Was supposedly a good turnout last year, but we missed most of the trucks while we were detailing ours. There are a few other local SyTy's that we'll be lobbying to attend as well.

I think if we just put something on the radar screen far enough out that people can plan for any travel, we could have a decent turn-out. I know I'm biased, but Austin would be a great place for such considering its equi-distance from the other major metroplexes. Plus, we've got a surprisingly active street scene for a town of this size!

Peace out,

Ya'll need to update your city info. I have no idea where Donkeyville, Dickville, middle of nowhere, etc. is... is anyone keeping a current list?

Who else is in Arlington besides me and Aaron? I know one dude named Phillip lurks around this area, but doesn't post or anything. Who else is hiding?

Re: ***SOUTHERN CHECK-IN/MEMEBERS LIST***

Hey everyone... It feels good driving around a sy in a small town where nobody knows what they are. Everyone stops me and asks me why my sonoma says Syclone on it. LOL. Anyways, maybe sometime in the near future the oklahoman sytys could meet up. It would be sweet. See ya.
