I just purchased a 1991 Sy with 124,xxx on the clock. It is in unmolested stock condition vehicle outside of the brakes, wheels, tires and exhaust. Under the hood has been untouched. This is why I bought the truck. It has been meticulously maintained and I have 2 3" 3 ring binders full of reciepts, articles, letters of authenticity plus all the magazines published in 1991 with articles about the syty's. Oh, it is #994.

I've been intrigued by these since 1991 and never really though of owning one until recently so I have been lurking here for a bit before buying.

I am in the process of doing a complete diagnostic bumper to bumper and will be taking care of issues as we find them as well as the normal full tuneup and LOF.

It seems to get out of its one way fairly well and my intention is to keep it bone stock. I will be doing body work and paint as well as touching up the interior. Just brightening it up a bit, nothing major.

I am interested to learn about the logical upgrades for safety, reliability and longevity and have used the search function but can't seem to hone in on the exact thread.

I live and work in Seattle so would like to know who else is local for future sake. I am big into cars and trucks and I just did a frame off restoration of a 1976 Datsun 620. Odd choice I know but I wanted something not many people have, hence the Sy purchase.

Daily Drivers:

2002 Audi A6 4.2 Sport Quattro
2004 Lexus IS 300 S
1976 Datsun 620 - Nice days only. Guess I should move somewhere with sun....hahahahah

I am a seasoned forum surfer so don't expect stupid questions and such although I guess I am a noob here all over again. I look forward to meeting some cool people and contributing where I can.

Re: New Member

Welcome aboard, Paul! Can't wait to see either the Datsun or the Audi, I've always been fans of both. Pm me for contact info, I live across the water in Bremerton (navy) and drive my Ty as often as I can put gas in it.

Congrats on the Sy, and welcome to the forum. I bought my truck from a guy that was big into datsuns, and built wicked little truck that seemed to have way too much power (not that that's anything to complain about). Enjoy the new truck...

And by the way, you've got a pretty good name there

Isn't GNNorthwest from those parts?

Congrats and welcome. Good luck with the restore. If you can keep it BONE stock, you are a better man than most here:D

Welcome to the SyTy community, Paul.

There's a great group of SyTy owners here in the Pacific Northwest!
