new ic pump squeals horribly

i got a johnson ic pump from rpm,it seemed to have a dead short as it blowed the fuse instantly.i thought i would try my second one by hooking it to 12 volts and it makes a horrible squealin noise.i can shake it around and it will stop the noise.is this because there is no coolant? or should i get yet another one

You probably just voided the warranty :2cents:

Normaly the pump needs the fluid to
dampen the impeller noise are you looking
for an upgrade I.C pump i may a new one for
sale if interested ..

i just hooked it up for a split second to make sure it would run
