New Guy - Might be buying a TY - need advice

Guys, I am new here and I need some advice on a TY I am considering.

It is a 92 Typhoon with 185,000 miles - guy wants $6300 firm. Here is the info:

The owner says that it was rebuilt before he got it but doesnt know how many miles since or have any documentation on what was done. The truck has a clean carfax record with 4 owners. It is totally stock but was re-painted 4 years ago to the factory green but they painted the cladding as well instead of painting it gray. Only rust spot is above rear glass about the size of a quarter.

The current owner has had it for 2 years and only put 104 miles on it - still has the same gas from 2 years ago. I went to test drive the truck and it is actually in really good shape for the miles. Doesnt smoke, no blowby, 50+ oil pressure, no clunking or strange noises, everything works, etc.

Here is what I need help with:
The truck did not feel fast at all. I footbraked it and got it up to around 4psi before it pulled through and it would build to around 11psi on the 1-2 shift. But I would estimate that it probably did 0-60 in 7 seconds. Could this all be from lack of TLC and sitting for 2 years with stale gas? Could it be pulling timing, etc to compensate? Or does the engine / turbo just have too many miles?

I am meeting the guy again this week to look it over and drive it again and I need to know what to look for this time.

What boost would be considered OK?
Should I bring a couple bottles of octane boost for the old gas?
It seemed low on coolant but temp was fine - would that affect boost?
How much difference can a tune up make?
Any way to tell if there are turbo problems?
What kind of other things will start to go at 185k?

I am scared by the miles but it really doesnt look or feel like it has 185k which is why he is asking what he is. Is $6300 too much for this truck?

Sorry for the long post, I just dont want to get burned on this deal and really want a TY. This truck will see some DD duty as well - maybe 8k a year.

Thanks in advance,
Dustin Talbot

what kinda mods does it have. That could clue you in on how the truck runs.

A fresh tune-up makes all the difference in the world.

are you reading the boost of the factory dash gauge?

Have a local from here check it out.
Some fag named Mike is only 22 miles from Batavia
If it doesn't feel fast,it's prolly ****ed,or maybe it just needs the right plugs (Right Joe?)
