New GM lower intake gaskets

just picked up lower intake gaskets from the dealer and noticed they each have a block of plate for the rear water jacket. got the parts guy to call up GM to make sure they were the correct gaskets and they said they added the block offs for faster warm up. They look like they could pop out, but was just wondering if anyone had to deal with this and if they kept the block offs or just removed them.thanks

Are you sure you got the right ones I think the number is GM #12509697?

thats the old part number. i even had the guy call gm up to make sure what the deal is with them.

yeah i believe so. they are the exact same as the others ive seen. they just have that blockoff. im probably gonna end up popping out the blockoff plate, i just wanted to see if anyone came across this before.
