Hello everyone. I'm a long time Chevy nut and have finally decided to get into the early race trucks/SUVs. Last year I bought a low mile 454SS. I've had fun with it over the past year and it's now putting out over 500hp. The 454SS is mint, so I needed a winter driver. I decided to start looking for a SyTy.
I threw down a bid on an E-bay Typhoon and amazingly won it. Not sure if I got a good price or not, but I'm happy. I now own 1992 Typhoon 0776. 90,000 miles. The previous owner decided he wanted to go with the "sleeper" look, so he destroyed the value of the vehicle. All cladding and bumpers are removed. Since this truck will be my winter driver, I'm more concerned with performance than looks; so will probably stick with the theme. I'll smooth the body where the cladding clips go and paint the lower portion of the vehicle. I'll also run an s-10 front bumper and roll pan rear. Sad that this poor thing was hacked like this, but should still be a fun project.
The Ty seems to run great except for what appears to be an overboost issue. It's still got the stock vacuum lines, so I'll start there. Interior looks good but needs a good detail.
My other hobby is offroading. I've got a '97 Chevy that I've highly modified over the years. Putting out 400hp. Pics below of all 3 vehicles.
