New best 1/4 trap speed, 1/8 ET and trap speed

Howdy,

I was racing last Sunday. Unfortunately I couldn't raise my personal bar 1/4 ET wise. However I could run my best 1/8 and best trap speeds. I had serious traction issues.

60' 1.73
1/8 7.284 @ 95.94 mph
1/4 11.420 @ 121.17 mph

This is still my street setup, 18" wheels, A048 Yokos, 21 psi on pump gas with methanol with ~19 degree of spark advance.

So far so good. We have one race left this year...

Thanks Phillip! I wish I could reproduce your short times. It would be a 10 sec truck now. Should replace these 18"'s with something smaller. That's the big dilema....

falco,

exactly! those 18's have no sidewall.

fwiw dont waste your time with 17's either...I'm using 15's for the sidewall!

Ed,

I'd go with 16" drag radials if I went back. M/T or BFG. I'd say 15" are not possible because of my Baers front and rear. However my bug is to produce the best number in street trim, which I could reproduce anytime when I put the pedal to the metal. So no race gas, no non-street legal tires etc. Also let's not forgett that we have no prepped tracks here. We are racing on airstrips or 1/4 mile cut outs from a circle tracks. No one is pulling below 1.6s here... Guys are going 150+ mph but still in the 1.7s...

Thanks Tasos! 5700...

About the converter beeing loose. It's a raptor 9/12". The RPM never goes below 4000 during the run. However I've no problem with it in a traffic jam or going uphill with easy on the throttle...
