Never mounted, no hardware either. Pretty shiny but would polish up nice.

And I think I still have one still in stock but if there is enough demand for a new batch, I can make some more. It's been several years since I made any.

It is a metal version of the rubber air deflector on the lower heat exchanger. Its also a little bit longer than the rubber version had one on my Ty back in the day when mom was daily driving it.

And just like the name suggests, anything that happens to be in front of it when moving at high rates of speed wont ever know what hit it.

Curious, has anyone tried to make one from Plexiglass? Not sure if it would work, but curious

It would. Ive made them from fiberglass and carbon fiber using Jim's actual blade as a template.

Just would need to be careful when drilling the mount holes so you dont crack the plexi.

When I am able to actually do some work after my fractured leg, I think I will work on one, see what I can do!

I don't think a plexiglass one would last. Plexi doesnt like impacts that would push it against the mount and would likely break. Lexan might survive a little better.

Actually....having it break on a heavy impact is a good thing. Ive seen many (mine included) break or bend the CCHE housing when they dont give. Ive seen quite a few of Jim's blades bend up as well. Whatever gauge metal he uses tends to fold and/or rip at the screw mounts.

Trust me...you want it to break if you end up smacking a small animal, taking on a curb/incline, or hitting a retread in the middle of the highway doing 80mph.

Yeah I guess when the goal is to minimize damage to the truck something like a 1/4 plexi part makes sense. If I had a template I could machine one at work and try it out.
