Hi Gentlemen,

My name is Benjamin and I got the SyTy fever many years ago when I was in junior high and those fabulous vehicles were released. At the time, I couldn't imagine ever driving one! With two vehicles, GM upended OPEC and provided a training ground for what was great about being a speed enthusiast, and they did it right!

My very first ride was a 1969 Nova with a 396. It didn't look like much, but it didn't take much to get the ass end squirrelly. That is when I got hooked on the adrenaline rush that comes from harnessing power that could easily kill you, if not checked properly. I was a dumb teenager and happy that I didn't wrap that car around a tree!

Flash forward a few decades and the kids are almost grown, so the SyTy fever has caught my brain yet again. I love both, but a Typhoon makes a lot more practical sense (or not!), so I've been doing my homework and the search has lead me to the wonderful resource that is SyTy.net. I'm looking forward to future ownership, learning a lot, and making some great friends with a collective interest.

Thanks for letting me be a part of your community!

Benjamin

Re: Neophyte

I don't know why anybody would want a Typhoon. Its basically a goofy station wagon soccer mom vehicle

Now a Syclone on the other hand, that's a man truck. All it does is haul ass.

:D

Re: Neophyte

Thanks guys!

The big drawing card for me re the Typhoon is the ability to haul people/things. Not quite at a point where I can justify a two-seater until the kiddos are completely grown and gone! :)

Welcome!

You've definitely come to the right place. This site is invaluable to Sy/Ty ownership, trust me.

I totally understand your thoughts on a Ty in terms of usability....and you're right.
But a Sy is just plain crazy fun and they drive really well. :)

Shop carefully, take your time.
My truck is as stock as can be and gives me zero troubles.
Drove it to work today, as a matter of fact.

Best of luck in your search.

Thank you guys!

Lol @ Jimmy! ;)

Sy1192, yeah it seems like an invaluable resource! I will definitely take my time, exert patience, research, research, research and see if I can't come up with a stock Ty that fits the pocketbook. That is the dream, anyway! :)
