Need to order pistons for engine build...

Hi guys,

I'm re-building my TY engine. I'm doing a stock type build, my machine shop is boring it .030 over. Using the stock crank and rods, just upgrading to forged Pistons. I searched like crazy, just wanted to make sure that the Speed Pro #2441 .030 are correct for the SYTY motor, before I order them. I want to be sure the compression ratio stays correct. Thank you!

Don't know about Speed Pro. I ran SRP's for a number of years before I finally broke a ring land. Currently I have CP-Carillo. They make a piston designed for turbo engines. The SRP's were stock (8.5) compression the CP's are 9.0. IMHO you'll probably not notice the extra half a point.

My CP's came with rings BTW.

Plus my never ending rant on these posts to have it balanced.:banghead:  :rotf:

The machine shop is doing a full balance on the motor, I have to bring him my flywheel.

That's good. I don't like mentioning balancing but on the other hand it seems a shame to have the motor completely apart and -not- balance it. Some just don't think of it.
