Need Some Help!!

Here's the deal, drove my truck a couple weeks ago and got a check engine light. Took it to Roy's place (BlackKnight), ran the truck with his scan tool and got around 8-10 degrees of knock retard at about 10 psi. Since then i've been trying to figure it out. Took it out today with a scan tool i bought today to see what is going on. Here is what i found.

Check Engine Light: Code 44 Lean
Knock Sensor: 230 (High)
Knock Retard: about 5 degrees depending on boost. Sometimes it was fairly low like 1-2
O2 Sensor Volts: Erratic from 200-800 depending on driving.
O2 Cross count: 230
Vacuum Sensor: 4.11 Volts
Lean Flag under boost

I've searched and can't really find what i'm looking for. I'm pretty new to these trucks and i'm kinda lost here and don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated on what to check. Ask me if you need to know anything else and i'll let you know.

Re: Need Some Help!!

Lean codes could be anything, vac leak, fuel filter, fuel pump,I would suspect all 3. o2's are suppose to be erratic, it's when it wont move you have a problem

Re: Need Some Help!!

just replaced fuel filter, bought a new O2 sensor today but i haven't put it in yet. Me and Roy had checked the fuel pressure and it seemed ok, about 36 psi at idle. Right now im thinking that it might be a vacuum leak. My brakes feel a little bit spongy. I don't know where to start looking yet though for a leak. I could try putting in the O2 but the one in there is just so f'ing hard to get out.

Uurghhmm, Roy and I

Could be vacuum leak, if you don't know the condition of your lines, you should replace them. I would recommend the silicon ones, but regular will work if money is tight.

Spongy brakes is something else entirely, if you want we can look at that again later. Everything was in decent condition when we looked at it the other day, so either we need to flush the fluid and put in new stuff or possibly your master is going bad. Or like most SyTy's it's that crappy ABS unit acting up and we need to dispose of it properly :1gun:

Since you have a new O2, we can take some time and change it out, because it wont matter if we destroy the old one or not this time, since I very well couldn't do that last time. ;)
