Need measurements: Baer sport fronts.

i'm looking for the measurements of the caliper brackets.

hopefully someone has one sitting around and can measure the spacing of the holes for the caliper (center to center). if they're ~5 1/16" i'd also like to know the thickness of the spacer welded to the bracket. thanks!

the caliper center to center bolt spacing is almost 5 1/8" .
the bracket spacer is 1 cm wide.

interesting, the guy i talked to said the Baer calipers were C5/Cobra pieces.
time to do more research.

12X.810 rotor Baer Street kit on front.
Calipers have PBR molded into the cast, so I am pretty sure that's correct.

The newer kits may be differnt or if you are looking at an SS or higher kit that could be a difference also.

i was going to use brackets from either a Sport or Track system (can't decide).
from the pictures i've seen it looks like some use C4 J55 style calipers (like yours) and others use C4 Grand Sport style calipers.
i'll probably have to get some junker calipers and compare them to C5 ones, i'd really love to have C5 brakes in front.

The J55 and GS caliper are almost the same, the GS ones have a little more bracing other wise they are the same. One problem with the c5 brake is the calipers don't clear all 17" rims. I know most of the 17" A-Molds and Knockoff (aka Zr-1) don't clear the C5 brakes, when mounted on a C4 corvette.

JuStBlAzIN, that's another thing i'd check out when/if i have to buy calipers and compare them. i'm not sure that the C5 calipers will fit the Baer brackets. so far i haven't found anything comparing C4 vs. C5.

dgoodhue, i know that the J55 and GS calipers are similar enough to interchange, what i'm now trying to find out is if C5 calipers have similar enough measurements so i can use them instead.

The C5 calipers are not interchangable with the J55 stuff. The C5 also have thicker rotors (1.25" vs 1.1") which may interfere with the spindles. I had to clearance quite a bit to get my 12" Baer rotors to fit.

hmm, i put a 5th gen f-body rotor on without any clearancing, it's the same thickness as a C5 rotor but maybe a different offset. hard to imagine why a thinner rotor would need more room without having them all here to compare.

to clear things up a little more, my goal is to get C5 rotors and calipers on the front, but i might have to settle for C4/GS.

i am with u on that one crazy J. i realy want the 13" setup, and the corvette name on the calipers. will go nice when i get my zo6 again.
