Re: Need Help!!!

i would say your gonna have to leave the converter bolted to the flywheel and remove it with the motor. which in turn will make a huge mess of your garage floor , or drop the trans first.

Yup - makes a huge mess, unless you can get the motor to turn, there's no real way.

Re: Need Help!!!

I was able to use a 15mm ratchet wrench with a flexable box end. I got lucky and was able to reach up into the bellhousing and get the bolts off but it was a PITA!

Otherwise your only option is dropping the trans out or pulling the motor with the TC conected and it will make a mess as others have stated.

Re: Need Help!!!

hot wrench and buy a new flywheel
He's probably going to need a new flexplate regardless... When my motor seized the centrifugal force of the TC still spinning damn near sheared it off. The flexplate rotated about an inch beyond the pin!

Re: Need Help!!!

So the T/C will just pull out of the tranny? I never messed with an automatic before.

yeah , it just splines onto the inputshaft and has a keyway for the pump..... oil dry will be your new best friend...

it will slide right off , just ALOT messier. plus takes more room to clear the input shaft.

Re: Need Help!!!

a .99cent shower liner will keep the mess to a minimum. or you can buy some cheap kitty litter.
