Need help with door

Today I replaced the pins and bushings in my driver side door because when it would shut it would smack the rocker. Now it's still doing the same thing is it possible that the door is bent, and how would you fix it? I've tried prying up on the end to level it out and it still does the same thing

Sounds like your body mount has rusted away causing door sag. Same thing happened to me....

Worked at body shop for a few years. Wish I was there to help ya out. What does the body lines look between the fender and door? Is it even? wide at the top? Has it always done this or just start saging?

I'll get that pic tomorrow , it's done it since I got it last year. I know the body mounts
are going bad in the front on both sides. But the pass side door is fine

Check the hinge for out of round. Sometimes they become elongated or oval shaped. Could b your problem. GM r known for heavy doors

Did you do the bushings correct?

If I remember correctly they are bronze bushings?

I am wondering if you install them upside down, or in wrong for the door to sag.

From what I remember the flanged bushings are on the top. I know each and every application is different. I just did them on my 67 plymouth and I did them on my g-moms mustang

I have the same issue, I took it to many shops and they said all they could really do was replace the hinge all together or weld up the hole for completely new bushing holes. Neither of which any of the shops would do...

However, my friend owns a body shop and had a special tool for bending hinges back that was able to help some

I wouldn't assume the body mounts are ok just because the fenders went on fine. Get under there and take a look. I had the same issue and it was the body mounts.

The mounts are bad in the front on both sides, just waiting on fixing them

Thats a common problem if you wait too long and let the holes get egg shaped. then you have to replace the hinges and those are bitch to replace cause there welded on.

If your having cab mount issues. I would fix that first. If you still have issues then you have to bend the hinges up by using a special tool. You could improvise and use a floor jack to bend the hinges up. I've done that but you got to be careful and don't go to far. I would only do that as a last resort...welded on hinges suck..Thats gm trying to save :2cents:

My Ty is having the same problem on the driver door.

If it turns out that my weld on hinges are bad, can those be purchased new still from the dealer?

Had the same type of issues with my Sy. Ended up being out of round holes where the upper pin and bushings were. The bushing had worn and the pin was wallowing out its hole. I just welded up the hole and re-drilled it. Worked fine.
