Need help in the Twin Cities

Hey guys. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I have a 92' Ty and am having trouble getting it to run. It will start but not stay running. It is all stock to my knowledge. I have replaced the O2 sensor, the ignition mod, the ecm from a different truck, wires, plugs, cap and rotor. It really seems to be very rich. I just can't figure out what's going on with this truck. I don't want to keep buying parts I don't need.

If there's anything you can point me towards, I will most certainly check it out. Also, if there is anyone in the twin cities that could maybe stop over and check it out with me, I'd be willing to pay for your services or whatever. I just need to get it running again.

Thanks in advance. Damion

Re: Need help in the Twin Cities

Well, it's finally back on the road again!!! Yee Haw! I had it out all last night driving around. I do have a question though. It needs a new starter. I've heard there is a member on here that has a parts business and sells starters. Anyone know who that is? I'd gladly buy from a member here before going down to napa. Any suggestions on which starter to buy?

Re: Need help in the Twin Cities

starter wise is it clicking & clicking & clicking then the starter works? if so it is not the starter, it is the purple wire that goes to the starter solenoid, very well know to be vary weak wire from the factory. Line trace it to the harness & replace it with A heavy guage wire. Problum fixed.

Re: Need help in the Twin Cities

Well, the trans is working fine. I love the converter. It does need some adjusting though. I think it is not shifting right. It up shifts too soon for my liking and it just doesn't quite feel like it's dialed in perfect yet. But getting there. There's only 215 miles on it right now.

The problem with the truck ended up being the ECM. I purchased one from here on the forum and changed the plugs again. Added some more fuel to the truck and it is now running. It does start kinda hard when it's warm though. I'm sure it's one of the sensors, just don't know which one yet.

I replaced the started with a 96' 454 starter, it works awesome!! Love that starter. I did replace the wire also. It is such a pain in the ass to work on that I thought I better do it while I was in there.
